Chocolate Chip Cookies (USA)


1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup margarine
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 (12 oz.) package chocolate chips
1/2 chopped nut (optional)

Cream sugars and margarine. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, salt, and baking soda. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets. Bake at 350F for 10 to 12 minutes.

Banana Nut Bread (USA)


1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2/3 cup vegetable oil
3 Tbsp. milk
1 cup (2 large) mashed bananas
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix together flour, baking soda, salt, sugar. Blend in eggs, oil, and milk, Stir in banana and nuts. Pour batter into greased 81/2 x 41/2 x 21/2 inch pan. Bake at 350F for approximately 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out cleaned.

"Dulce de Leche" Alfajor (Argentina)


2 cups flour
1 cup corn starch
1/2 cup sugar
150 gr margarine (around 5-6 Tbsp.)
1 egg (if the egg is too small you will need 2)
1 tsp baking powder

For filling: 1 can of "Dulce de Leche"

Mix the dry ingredients, add the margarine mixing with the hands, add the egg, mix and make a ball. If the dough is not getting smooth add some Tbs of water. Wait for 30 minutes. Roll the dough and cut thins round cookies with a cookie cutter or a glass in any size you like it. Grease a pan and put the cookies in the oven 350F until light brown on the bottom. When cool, fill with "dulde de leche" and make a sandwich. If you like you can roll the cookies in coconut.
